Parents, here is the deal. Our six-week program meets every Saturday from 9 AM to 12 PM. Your child works hands-on with a mannequin head and professional supplies from day one, so they are practicing, not just watching.

You do not have to wait for a new semester. Your child can start any Saturday once enrollment is complete. Classes top out at 10 students, so every child gets real attention and real feedback.

Close to Home in Henry County

We teach from the Lake Spivey area of Henry County and serve families from Jonesboro, Stockbridge, McDonough, Hampton, Morrow, Riverdale and Fayetteville. If you are on the south side of metro Atlanta, we are an easy drive away.

Meet Dionne James

Dionne James teaching at Youth Braiding Academy

Dionne James is a Licensed Cosmetology Instructor and Master Cosmetologist with more than 30 years in the beauty industry. She has trained thousands of students, founded Essence of Braiding & Weaving in 1992, and started Youth Braiding Academy to help people of all ages learn a real skill and feel great doing it. She is patient, she is direct, and she will make sure you leave knowing exactly what you are doing.
